... 11:06 a.m., he said. The address was in the 300 block of North Laurel Avenue, off Beverly Boulevard.

The man's ID and age were not available.

The residence was roped off with yellow tape as homicide detectives investigated today.

[Update at 3:20 p.m. Friday]: In a statement released this afternoon police identified the victim as 42-year-old Erik Poltorak.

Cops now say they went to his home after coworker found him dead of gunshot wounds on his front porch.

Neighbors told detectives they heard gunfire overnight but none, it seems, called 911:

Detective's investigation revealed that several neighbors heard what sounded like gunshots early in the morning, around 2 or 2:30 a.m., but police were not called at that time.
