You would think that here in ultraliberal, mega-diverse Los Angeles, the uber-white, super-conservative Tea Party wouldn't have a chance.

Well, they live among us, apparently.

We just got notice that the antitax, anti-big government movement is staging a 9/11 demo right in the heart of the city:

The Hancock Park Patriots and the Santa Monica Tea Party are putting on "an old-fashioned street corner rally" from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the northwest corner of Beverly and Larchmont boulevards in Larchmont Village.

That's ... right now!

Mark Sonnenklar, "coordinator" of the Hancock Park Patriots, says in a statement sent to the Weekly:

On this day, in addition to mourning this tragedy, we stand together to strengthen our resolve that we are a free nation and the beacon of liberty throughout the world, principles enshrined in our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Be there or be sane.
