Update, 3:30 p.m.: The suspects, a young man and woman, were just named by the LAPD.

The LAPD just announced that they've made an arrest in the shocking January 11 murder of 17-year-old Francisco Rodriguez, the star goalie for El Camino Real High School's soccer team.

After reportedly being lured out of his house by a mysterious female, he was shot dead just after 6 p.m. on his front lawn. Friends, family and neighbors -- and the greater Valley community -- was horrified by the cold-blooded homicide, for which no motive was immediately known.

At 3 p.m. this afternoon...

... police are planning a press conference, where they'll give more details about the much-anticipated arrest of Rodriguez' suspected killer.

The only thing they're revealing so far: "It looks like there may have been a personal motive," Captain Tom Brascia tells the LA Daily News.

The frantic homicide investigation has made huge headlines -- including a giant front-page piece in the Daily News. "Teen answered door of his Winnetka home, then shots rang out," read the subhead. "Police seek girl who called."

From LA Weekly's own morning-after report:

Neighbor Jesse Meza told ABC7 that the boy's mother said a girl had come asking for Rodriguez, who was ID'd by the station:

"She said it was a girl, it was a girl who came to the door. And he came out, he wasn't even wearing shoes he was wearing socks. He must've went up to the car, they shot him, and he turned around and took steps toward his house, and he landed right on this front yard."

... Rodriguez was the goalkeeper in the El Camino Conquistadors' 0-0 tie with Taft, a game that ended at 5:15 p.m., less than an hour before the shooting, coach Ian Kogan told KCAL9.

Update, 10:30 a.m.: Anonymous police sources tell the Los Angeles Times that there have actually been two suspects arrested in connection with the case. That would align with the bait-and-hook scenario that witnesses described:

Family members said they did not recognize the girl, who had red hair. The shots came from a sport utility vehicle parked out front, they said.
