That's what L.A. County prosecutors say today after charging Arian Prescod-Dancy with murder when the robbery of a cannabis store in Leimert Park went sideways Saturday and the security guard there fatally shot his alleged accomplice.
It went down ...
... in the 4200 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard, D.A. official Tom Higgins told City News Service.
An armed security guard fatally shot Anthony Hill with two rounds after the latter and Prescod-Dancy allegedly tried to rob the place, he said.
Because Prescod-Dancy was an alleged accomplice, California's "provocative act doctrine" says he can be charged in his death.
Cops from the LAPD's downtown Central Division arrested him Wednesday. Prescod-Dancy was also charged with second-degree robbery.
He was being held on $1.1 million bail.
The security guard went scot-free.
So remember kids, even if you didn't do it, if you went along for the ride and something bad happens the law says you (allegedly) did.
