Now, if you lived in a normal city in America, a Richard Neutra house would be considered a collectible, a classic, a work of art, a landmark, even.

But apparently the Viennese architect's work rates only as a "tear down" in tony Beverly Hills.

That's right, a recent, $14 million real estate listing for a Neutra home on Sunset Boulevard doesn't even mention that the late, great home designer even had a hand in creating the edifice. Nope:

That detail, in fact, was revealed by Curbed LA.

You can almost hear the cringing coming from Curbed as the listing describes how the the buyer could just tear the old 7,000-square-foot house down.

It states (in not so good English):

This unique property is surround by multi million dollar homes and has huge upside potential as a major estate. The estate is complete secluded from Sunset Boulevard and is extremely quiet. Bring your contractor to remodel the existing single story mid century home or build your dream home.

We know B.H. is the eternal land of the McMansion and having it your way, but a Neutra should be a prize, not a nuisance.
