Another case of a Bad Lieutenant? Orange County Sheriff's officials say an ex-cop from suburban Chicago allegedly posed as an officer in an effort to get a nude massage.

Unfortunately for him, it seems, not only did this particular massage parlor not do the "massage my front" service he allegedly asked for while nude, but the suspicious manager called authorities while the in flagrante delicto man got at least part of the free nude (back) rub authorities say he asked for.

He must have been really tense, because officials say he even asked for $200 in cash on the way out. Alas ...

... as 47-year-old suspect Edward La Porte exited, a Lake Forrest official was arriving at the local business to ask what his inspection was all about, according to sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.

La Porte, who had a clipboard, gun and badge in his ruse to do an inspection, get a free massage, and maybe grab some cash -- according allegations -- apparently said he was from the state and didn't have cooperate before he took off, Amormino said.

The Lake Forrest official got a partial plate number for the suspect's car, however, and soon deputies were at La Porte's Mission Viejo home, where they say they found the gun and badge described by the massage manager.

This all went down on Monday, and La Porte was arrested (but we're not clear exactly what charges authorities are recommending). Amormino said deputies are looking into the possibility he could have allegedly conducted other "inspections" at area massage parlors.

Amormino says the alleged massage-o-phile works at a security company in Yorba Linda.

This particular spot in Lake Forrest, by the way, is called Golden Spa.

Golden, maybe, but for this ex-cop, it doesn't appear to have given him any kind of happy ending.
