In any case, it can't be a proud moment to be on this list (we're looking at you, Helen Thomas and Rich Sanchez). But at least one commenter defended the rights of these dubiously distinguished people to voice their opinions.
Our commenter of the day, Trisha, says:
My opinion is...we live in a free country. We have been given the freedom of SPEECH. And I for one am sick and tired of hearing about what everyones opinions SHOULD be about ANY topic! Everyone is entitled to an opinion! Every opinion that goes against YOUR beliefs do not mean there is evil intent behind them. Its rediculous how Americans try to CENSOR eachother into having the same opinions if they want to be popular! Get a life! So what if some people might tell MY FATHER to go home to Poland? And?? They can go home to wherever they came from too! WTH CARES??? You people cry "Oh my rights are being trampled!" as YOU trample everyone elses right to NOT AGREE with YOU!!
True that, Trisha. And the Simon Wiesenthal Center has the very freedom to publish the names of high-profile idiots who don't like people based on their faith.
So freedoms are colliding here, in a constructive way. But we have a little advice for those who hate based on faith, ethnicity and race: Exercise your right to remain silent.
