We haven't seen a pursuit this hot since the tabloid press set out to prove that Tom Cruise is gay. (He's not, Tom Cruise's lawyers, we swear he's not).

Porn production house Vivid Entertainment has been chasing "Octomom" Nadia Suleman like Bob Sagat after a Playboy bunny. She turned down its latest offer to pay her for party hosting and production assistant duties.

But Vivid studio chief Steven Hirsch says he's not giving up.

"I don't understand her immediate refusal. This is an opportunity for Nadya to take advantage of her well-known name, without doing anything behind or in front of the camera ... This is something major stars do all the time, and are very well paid for it ... Needless to say, we will keep trying ... We think she's an exciting personality."

We don't understand Vivid's attraction to this mother we wouldn't like to ... you know. More children (14 in all) have passed through her than the number of pills that have gone through Rush Limbaugh's considerable bowels in one sitting. (We're joking).

All the plastic surgery in the world isn't going to change that.

Interestingly, after Suleman turned down nearly two years worth of offers to perform in Vivid adult films, she said she didn't feel she was "loose enough" to get down on-set. Really? Her stretch marks have to be looser than Larry King's jowls.

Anyway, as usual, Octomom needs cash for all those babies and to maintain that roof over her head in scenic Orange County armpit La Habra.

Vivid, in a statement released Wednesday, makes it sound as if the offer stands:

Vivid will be hosting two glamorous parties in Vegas on Jan. 7th and 8th in conjunction with the AVN Awards, known as "The Oscars of Porn." Hirsch said Suleman's main duty would have been to smile and shake hands with guests at the events.

You can do this, Nadia. Just stay away from Bob Sagat.
