NBC4 traffic reporter Paul Johnson died of a brain tumor Tuesday evening at his home, according to NBC Los Angeles. Johnson, who was 75, worked for NBC for 22 years as a weather and traffic reporter. He was known for his signature phrase, "Buckle up -- be careful there."

Johnson underwent brain surgery in January and remained off air while recovering. His broadcast career included positions at Los Angeles radio stations KZLA, KFAC, KUTE, and KIIS.

Johnson's wife Nancy says the reporter died surrounded by family.
