The suit alleges that Vanguard Outdoor and main owner, Pamela Anderson (not that Pamela Anderson), along with the installers and property owners, engaged in the illegal erection and display of the advertisements in violation of the city's ban on such signs, the California's Outdoor Advertising Act, the unfair competition law and public nuisance laws.
The locations of the signs include:
-An office building, next to the 10 freeway, at 3000 S. Robertson Blvd.
-An adjacent parking structure.
-6464 W. Sunset Blvd.
-6465 W. Sunset Blvd.
-5858 Wilshire Blvd.
The City Attorney's office wants the signs removed, the companies and owners involved banned from erecting such signs again, and civil penalties that would include up to $2,500 a day for the time each sign was up and $10,000 for failing to comply with a Caltrans notice of violation.
