According to the Los Angeles Business Journal's analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers, the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana metropolitan area "saw 194,900 jobs slip away between November 2008 and November 2009." We're number one!
Actually, all but one of the nation's top 100 metro areas suffered job losses during the period, so we shouldn't feel too proud. In fact number two Chicago (186,600) and number three New York (186,100; in your face!) weren't far behind.
