Julio Olivares, L.A. Homicide No. 8: Man Dies Six Months After Gang Dispute in South Los Angeles

Julio Olivares died from gunshot wounds January 4. Olivares, an alleged Florencia 13 gang member, was shot in the chest and hand by gang rivals on his front porch in the 900 block of East 85th Street.

According to police reports, two male Hispanics were spotted in Olivares' front yard at the time of the shooting on July 7. He was transferred to a local hospital where he died of his injuries six months later. In November, two members of the South Side Watts gang were arrested in the fatal July attack. Anyone with information is asked to call LAPD 77th Division detectives at 213-485-4175.
