Three middle school boys were arrested in connection with the "kick a ginger day" attacks on redheaded students at their campus in Calabasas, authorities said today.

The suspects include two 12-year-olds and one 13-year-old. The older boy was arrested on suspicion of cyber-bullying -- ostensibly connected to a Facebook posting promoting the anti-gingite attack. The two 12-year-olds were booked on suspicion of "battery on school property," according to Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

The trio attends A.E. Wright Middle School, site of the attacks on about five redheaded students. They were booked and released to the custody of their parents. The anti-gingite day on Nov. 20 was inspired by an episode of Southpark that coined the term "ginger" to describe redheads in an opposite-land-like satire of prejudice.

"Kick a ginger day" sounds like something Beavis & Butthead would have come up with. Of course, Beavis, the ultimate redheaded stepchild, would have ended up kicking himself. And the pair would have gotten away with some detention.
