Brian Wright was arrested at his girlfriend's home in the 1900 block of West 22nd Street. Wright is accused of using a hammer to kill 28-year-old Lindval Baptist. According to preliminary police reports, a relative of Baptist found him lying face down in a pool of blood at a home in the 3100 block of Sixth Avenue. The police didn't provide a motive as to why Wright would bludgeon Baptist to death. Wright was booked on suspicion of murder and held on $1 million bail.
