Last December the adopted daughter of veteran actor Peter Falk revealed he is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and dementia. Now, it turns out, Catherine Falk is engaged in a bitter conservatorship fight with Falk's second wife, Shera. The battle over who should care for the 81-year-old -- and whether or not he is in danger of being taken advantage of financially -- is being fought in L.A. Superior Court.

According to his daughter, who was adopted when Falk was married to his first wife, the onetime star of John Cassavettes films and TV's Columbo detective series, is said to be unable to recognize his family or to take care of himself. Yet Shera Falk claims a trust fund set up by her husband provides at-home nursing care for him.
