Venom coined the term “black metal” with their 1982 sophomore record of the same name, spawning an entire genre that took things in a darker, grimier direction musically compared with the thrash-metal sound of Venom’s early material. A split in the band’s ranks in recent years has resulted in two dueling Venoms. This one, dubbed Venom Inc., features original members Jeff “Mantas” Dunn (guitar) and Anthony “Abaddon” Bray (drums) alongside early-’90s Venom bassist-vocalist Tony “Demolition Man” Nolan.
