University To Host Charity Golf Tournament In Benefit Of Mental Health Centers

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) will host a fundraising golf tournament on Monday, July 24. The tournament will benefit the TCSPP Counseling Centers at West Los Angeles and Irvine, centers that ensure all members of the community have access to mental health care by providing services on an affordable sliding scale. The Chicago School is a nonprofit, private graduate university dedicated to psychology and behavioral health services. The event will be held at the Mountain Gate Country Club, located at 12445 Mountaingate Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90049. It will include a buffet, silent auction, a “Hole in One” prize, and a helicopter drop raffle with a cash prize of up to $5,000. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the first contest begins at 9 a.m. Golfers, sponsors, and spectators are welcome to purchase tickets to support the cause for accessible mental healthcare. In addition to supporting caring, confidential, and affordable psychological services for individuals and families in the Los Angeles and Orange County communities, tournament proceeds also go to provide applied training to The Chicago School’s emerging mental health professionals. “We hope the Golf Tournament will become a fun and important annual event to support the Counseling Centers, where our staff and students are doing amazing work,” said Chris Marrero-Howieson, Psy.D., Director of the Counseling Center at West Los Angeles. “We are appreciative of the generosity of the many people, who by participating, are contributing to the mental well-being of our communities,” added Julie Wilnier, Ph.D., Director of the Counseling Center in Irvine. Operated by TCSPP, the Counseling Centers employ experienced clinical psychologists and marital and family therapists to provide close supervision to master’s and doctoral-level interns who are working toward clinical licensure. The Centers deliver high-quality and culturally competent services, primarily focusing on individual, couple, family and group psychotherapy.
