As part of the Getty’s city-wide program Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, the Japanese American National Museum hosts this exhibit, which explores artists of Japanese heritage either born or living in Mexico City, Lima or Sao Paulo or in Latino neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Artists Patssy Higuchi, Sandra Nakamura, Eduardo Tokeshi, Yuriko Rojas Moriyama, Kiyoto Ota, Taro Zorrilla, Madalena Hashimoto, Erica Kaminishi, Oscar Oiwa, Ichiro Irie, Shizu Saldamando, Kenzi Shiokava and Shinpei Takeda contribute paintings, drawings, sculpture, woodblock prints and installations that address such topics as gender roles and dual cultural identities.
