The Secret Sisters are no secret to listeners who appreciate traditional folk and country music that’s laden with rich sibling harmonies. Laura and Lydia Rogers hail from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and they received an early push when their self-titled 2010 debut album was produced by Dave Cobb and T Bone Burnett. Their hipness factor increased when Jack White released one of their singles on his Third Man Records. And their second full-length, Put Your Needle Down, was a fine follow-up, with an unusual mix of original tunes and covers of songs by both Brandi Carlile and PJ Harvey, as well as the Sisters’ completion of a lost Bob Dylan track, “Dirty Lie.” After getting dropped from their label, the Sisters managed to revive their career with the help of producer Carlile on their upcoming release, You Don’t Own Me Anymore.
