In 2009, Secret Identities organized the first Asian American ComiCon in New York to highlight the contributions of Asian-American artists in the comic book industry. Today, the AACC hosts its second event with comics creators “talking about where we’re going next,” including Phil Yu, Jeff Yang, Sarah Kuhn, LaToya Morgan, Lewis Tan and Keith Chow. The summit features an artists’ alley, keynote conversation with George Takei and launch of New Frontiers: The Many Worlds of George Takei, a graphic anthology – and companion book to the JANM’s current exhibit of the same name – inspired by the life of the Star Trek actor.
