SMPTE 2016 Symposium: The Future of Storytelling and How to Save It. As we approach SMPTE's 100th anniversary, it's amazing to see how much technology has changed the way we tell stories as well as how we preserve them. When we look toward the next 100 years the way we preserve the creativity of our industry will need to be as complex as the way we tell stories. This daylong exploration will delve into those kinds of technologies and how great talents are bringing new heights of creativity and creative approaches help to preserve them. The day is curated by Andrea Kalas, President of the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA).
Speakers: Patrick Griffis, Andrea Kalas, Robert Seidel, Daniel Teruggi, Steve Wong, Mike Acton, Eric Kaltman, Feargus Urquhart, James Synder, Andrew Oran, Chris Reynolds, John Badham, Kelvin Bolah, Dino Everett, Karl Facredyn, Ben Rosenblatt, Karen Stetler, Jan Yarbrough, Grover Crisp, Nick Gold
