L.A. State Historic Park has finally reopened after a three-year remodeling hiatus, and local tastemakers KCRW, the Well, Space Yacht and DoLA have joined forces with a new collective called Radio Hill to bring the renovated park’s first musical event: Skyline: Art, Music, Food. The 21-plus electronic-leaning music festival, which kicks off at 2 p.m. and wraps up at 11 p.m., is starting conservatively with a small but high-quality selection of international talent, including trendsetting Swedish trio Miike Snow, skilled English DJ/producer Duke Dumont, the varied talents of Norway’s Lido, and prolific Irish producer Eden, plus locals Michl, Elohim and Jason Bentley. What these artists have in common is that they are on the far edge of cool. You also can become one of the elite cool while you enjoy fare from craft food trucks, interact with cutting-edge art installations, and make your way home using the nearby Metro Gold Line.
