The Produce Haus Grand Opening will present the group exhibition “WALLS – A Quest For Immersive Space” featuring new works by Rouzanna Berberian, Clayton Campbell, Corey Burns, Gary Brewer, Yvette Gellis, Kaloust Guedel, KuBO, Andy Moses, Gary Paller, Marjan Vayghan and Zadik Zadikian
Produce Haus is a collaborative studio created by artist Zadik Zadikian. It is on the second floor of a century-old building inside the massive 7th Street Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles. With large windows lining its 60-foot long east and west walls, and a 16-foot high ceiling, the atmospheric space distills the light-filled openness and vastness that Zadikian feels are the essence of Los Angeles as a place. Art critic Shana Nys Dambrot calls it “An ephemeral temple of transient timelessness, with an elemental purity and an alchemical ambition.”
Blending evanescence and endurance, Produce Haus spotlights contemporary artworks coalescing around the architecture of a living piece of Los Angeles history. The building it’s housed in went up in 1918, the same year that Warner Bros. Studios, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Otis College of Art and Design got started. A century later, Zadikian’s vision has transformed the space into a vector for creative collaboration. Adorned with gold and copper patina, rich colors, and natural light, Produce Haus comes alive via large scale artistic interventions, and the ever-changing environment itself becomes the work of art.
Drinks and light bites will be served at the grand opening. There is ample free parking. https://produce.haus/contact
