The TV music series, which ran from 1980 to 1988, featured Andy Gibb, Dionne Warwick, Marilyn McCoo and others as hosts, lip-synching performers and of course the Solid Gold Dancers, those leotard-and-headband-wearing dancers, who made aerobics look sexy. Tonight, Pat & Charlie: Solid Gold Lame Cabaret takes you back to that era. Directed by Julianna Parr, and written by Nancy Kissam, the musical parody includes cast members Kissam, Linda Santiman, Mike Rainey, Matt Stevens and Josh Fielstra dancing as the Precious Metals and singing covers by Blondie, Duran Duran, Soft Cell and other ‘80s bands, all while sporting lots of gold lame.
