Now that you've recovered from your New Year's hangover, it's time to party again at the Japanese American National Museum's annual Oshogatsu Family Festival, which celebrates both the Japanese New Year and the Year of the Dog. Daylong activities include performances of Japanese koto music and lion dance, storytelling and a drawing demonstration led by graphic artist Stan Sakai. Also scheduled are loads of workshops on making candy sculpture, daruma dolls and origami, in addition to tastings of soba noodles and mochi rice cakes and the museum's ongoing and temporary exhibits, namely "Transpacific Borderland: The Art of Japanese Diaspora in Lima, Los Angeles, Mexico City and São Paulo."
