The 14 member Los Angeles Clarinet Choir presents a concert of new original works and arrangements, featuring the World Premiere of "Hajudu's Nigun" by the award-winning Israeli composer, Matti Kovler. Kovler's work incorporates the ancient Jewish tradition of wordless spiritual song re-examined through the lyrical medium of the clarinet ensemble. Also on the program, new international works inspired by Japanese folksongs, Bralian choro, Italian jazz, American ragtime, as well as a show and tell of the instruments with themes from Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf. Limited seating in historic Barrett Recital Hall; advance ticket purchase recommended.
