Leimert Park, one of Los Angeles’ most historic neighborhoods and Curbed LA’s 2016 “Neighborhood of the Year,” in partnership with its non- profit fiscal sponsor, the Los Angeles Community Garden Council, is launching a new tradition: a biennial garden tour, to be held this year on Saturday, May 6, 2017 (rain or shine). The self- guided tour will feature eleven private residential gardens. Tickets are $15, and children under 13 are free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Tickets can be reserved on-line or purchased the day of the event beginning at 10AM at the Garden Tour Hub, located at Community Build’s courtyard in Leimert Park Village, 4305 Degnan Blvd., Los Angeles 90008. A map to the featured homes will be provided with each ticket. Leimert Park is a 1.2 square mile neighborhood, and its flat terrain is highly conducive to walking or biking. Bike valets and bike racks, provided courtesy of the LA County Bicycle Coalition, will be stationed at each of the homes on the tour. Ample street parking is also available throughout the neighborhood. The Garden Tour Hub will offer food for purchase, live music, and will include a variety of vendors, exhibitors and children's activities.
