Latin American Transponder

Yago Cura

"Latin American Transponder" is a FREE bilingual poetry program celebrating Dia de la Raza in the Mark Taper Auditorium of the Los Angeles Public Library's Central Library (630 W 5th St, Los Angeles, CA 90071). 10 Los Angeles-based poets will read original poems and poems in translation by some of Latin America’s most well-loved poets. The roster of readers (Neela Banerjee, Gloria Enedina Alvarez, Richard Modiano, Billy Burgos, Abel Salas, Jessica Ceballos, Rey Macias, Adolfo Guzman Lopez, Skira Martinez, Claudia D. Hernandez) were solicited for their contributions to the city of Los Angeles, a city built by immigrants, many of whom originate from countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
