Savage Sinusoid, dueling vocalists Laurent Lunoir and Laure Le Prunenec are opposing forces. Lunoir bellows with an aggressive, guttural hardcore intensity, whereas Le Prunenac’s operatic wailing soars with a stirring power. Underneath it all, mastermind Gautier Serre manipulates an intense fusillade of throttling electronics, percussion and sampled guitars layered with traces of sitar. Some interludes exude a chamber music–style prettiness and delicacy that’s soon crushed when the wall of sound comes down again. GosT is a masked one-man machine, cranking out foreboding metallic passages that shift into electronic soundscapes. Expect a night of terror that’s as visually and musically unsettling as a nightmare.
