Culled from its permanent collection, The Getty Museum’s current exhibit, "Things Unseen: Vision, Belief, and Experience in Illuminated Manuscripts" (through Sept. 25), explores how artists have interpreted religious encounters in text and images in Medieval and Renaissance books. In conjunction with the display, the museum and Zocalo Public Square co-host this panel discussion, which further looks at how all artists – painters, actors and directors – “depict the supernatural.” Documentary filmmaker Jody Hassett Sanchez moderates the panelists, including USC professor Lisa Bitel; Cabrini University professor Leonard Norman Primiano; and screenwriter/director Michael Tolkin.
