The 25th Anniversary of the 1992 Los Angeles Uprising will be commemorated with a mass mobilization that includes a public rally and march. Themed “The Future of LA is in South LA: A Community Vision for Health and Justice 25 years After the 1992 LA Uprising,” the event calls community members and allied organizations to gather in support of ending structural oppression that led to the 1992 Uprising and commitment to a collective transformation.
Begins at intersection of Florence and Normandie, Los Angeles, CA
Future Fest is a community festival that will combine Arts, Advocacy and Community to celebrate South LA’s resilience, lift-up our community’s collective vision, and discuss community priorities for change to move forward. We’ll highlight a vision for transformation and health which preserves the integrity of the poor and working class people in our neighborhoods and points toward a future for the entire city that builds on South LA’s unique models of cross-racial unity and of model community-driven solutions.
