Director Kila Kitu and a diverse, core group of professional actors, interacting with area residents present a free out-of-doors presentation of Playwright Henry Ong's epic six-hour adaptation of the famed Chinese classic, “Dream of the Red Chamber" over three days at the Inglewood Amphitheater in Ed Vincent Park.
This family-friendly, classic and modern, traditional yet universal story of the human heart based on Ts’ao Hsueh Ch’in’s romance novel —a blend of realism and the supernatural—centers around the love story of the protagonist Pao-yu and his cousin, Black Jade, and details the decline of the Chia family during the early Ching Dynasty (1644 - 1912).
