After the Grateful Dead said “Fare Thee Well” in 2015, suviving core members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart decided to keep “Playing in the Band” with stalwart keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. They invited Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge and Grammy winner John Mayer to get on the bus, and the resulting band, Dead and Company, is now back in Southern California on their third U.S. tour in two years.
