CNN’s new eight-part, documentary series Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History, which premiered April 20 and includes Dwayne Johnson as one of the executive producers, examines the relationship between popular music and some of the world’s most historic events. The first two episodes, “The Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.” and “September 11th,” looked at how singers became involved in the civil rights and Black Power movements, and helped Americans heal after the terrorist attacks. The Grammy Museum screens the series’ upcoming episode, “The Fall of the Berlin Wall,” followed by a discussion with museum executive director Scott Goldman and Justin Jampol, founder of The Wende Museum of the Cold War in Culver City.
