Bonobo continues to soar with his return to Los Angeles in support of his latest album, Migration. The most high-profile artist on revered electronic label Ninja Tune hit mainstream echelons with his 2013 breakthrough album, North Borders. That translates to an elaborate live presentation for Migration that includes a truly spectacular light show beautifully suited to the Greek Theatre’s outdoor setting. Combined with the atmospheric bent of Migration, which leans on instrumentals more than on featured vocalists — the exceptions being Nick Murphy aka Chet Faker on the magical “No Reason,” Rhye on the moving “Break Apart,” Hundred Waters’ Nicole Miglis on the ethereal “Surface” and Innov Gnawa chanting over the tribal house rhythms of “Bambro Koyo Ganda” — it should make for a heady audiovisual experience.
