In partnership with the Cinefamily, Barnsdall Park continues its Wine & a Movie fundraising series with two final showings on Sunday, September 25th (Black Orpheus) and Sunday, October 2nd (Fellini Satyricon with pre-feast). The events run from 5:30 p.m. until late with the movies beginning at sundown atop scenic Olive Hill (4800 Hollywood Boulevard). Black Orpheus will be presented by Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro, the child star of the iconic 1959 film, who is now one of the world’s greatest Samba players. The evening pays tribute to this influential musical ambassador with a musical jam, hosted by Brazilian singer and performer Thalma De Freitas and others, followed by a screening of Camus’ beloved French-Brazilian classic under the stars. The series will close out on October 2nd with Fellini Satyricon with pre-feast en plein air, while patrons revel in the wildest Roman spectacle of them all! Guests can enjoy a curated selection of wines, courtesy of San Antonio Winery, as well as some of LA’s finest food trucks. Tickets cost $25 for the screening & sips and are available at http://barnsdall.org/events/outdoor-movie-nights/ or http://www.cinefamily.org/films/wine-a-movie/.
