More than 50 years after its publication, Elie Wiesel’s 1960 memoir, Night, in which he chronicled how he survived the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps between 1944-1945, still stands as one of the most respected and widely read pieces of literature about the Holocaust. On the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day in the United States, Wilshire Boulevard Temple and Writers Bloc co-host a staged reading, featuring dozens of actors, artists, politicians and community leaders each presenting a section of the book, including Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Caroline Aaron, Madeleine Brand, Sam Grundwerg, Jonathan Kirsch, Elex Michaelson, Gina Nahai, Sharon Nazarian, E. Randol Schoenberg, Dan Schnur, Eric Roth, Tavis Smiley, Kenneth Turan, Bernard Weinraub, Dr. Diane White-Clayton, Rabbi David Wolpe, Zev Yaroslavsky and others.
