http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com Dodger Stadium is, of course, the home of the Major League Baseball team the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it has also been the site of many historic events and concerts. The stadium opened in 1962 in Chavez Ravine, a hilly Elysian Park neighborhood just northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Since then, it's been the primary home of the Dodgers (and, briefly in the early 1960s, the Los Angeles Angels) and has hosted eight World Series championships, as well as exhibition baseball games during the 1984 Summer Olympics. The Beatles performed their penultimate official concert in 1966 at Dodger Stadium, and Elton John headlined two major shows here in 1975. Madonna, the Rolling Stones, the Cure, Michael Jackson, the Bee Gees, the Three Tenors, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, and Kiss have also played big concerts in the ballpark. Other events have included a ski-jumping competition and appearances by the Harlem Globetrotters and Pope John Paul II. Several times a year during baseball season, sports and music combine for such festivities as the regular "Viva Los Dodgers" series, which features Latin music before the games. Now one of the oldest parks in Major League Baseball, Dodger Stadium is also one of the few remaining stadiums without a corporate-sponsored name. With its distinctive wavy roof over the bleachers in the outfield, and palm trees bobbing their heads in the breeze just beyond the bullpens, Dodger Stadium is still one of the most striking baseball stadiums. Recent renovations have added more club seats and luxury suites to the multilevel ballpark. Beer & wine are available at concession stands throughout the stadium. All ages. More >>

  • The Draft Bar and Grill

    The Draft Bar and Grill

12430 Riverside Drive Los Angeles, CA 91607
    818-508-8652

http://www.thedraftbarandgrill.com The Studio City sports bar The Draft Bar & Grill is what you dreamed of as a 16-year-old boy. Here, pool tables and posters of scantily clad women mesh with Babe Ruth iconography, bean bag chairs and video games. From beer pong tournaments to nights with no cover charge for UFC fights, The Draft is a young boy's paradise come to life – and with a liquor license to boot. It's hard to find the bar from behind the nearly 30 TVs or over the rolling din of various sports fans, but when you do, order a pitcher of beer. At $15 for Sierra Nevada, it's a steal, and pairs well with the typical bar food being served here: burgers, hot dogs and a towering Triple Double club sandwich. More >>
