From 1992 to '97, Lisa Kennedy Montgomery -- better known as Kennedy -- had every teen girl's dream job: As host of MTV's "Alternative Nation," she interviewed an impressive roster of bad-boy and -girl rock stars, celebrities and politicians, making her the envy of groupies and serious music fans alike. Her horn-rimmed glasses, daring questions and frank commentary were a far cry from TV's stereotypically giddy gals with patently predictable looks and cheery demeanors. In a word, she gave outsiders hope. Tonight the libertarian, 41-year-old mother of two (and morning drive-time DJ on alternative station 98.7 FM) reads from and signs her book, The Kennedy Chronicles: The Golden Age of MTV Through Rose-Colored Glasses. In it, she gets right down to the real nitty-gritty by exposing what went on behind the scenes at MTV, as well as how all the hip and happening outrageousness affected her personal life. One of the juiciest bits reveals the night Kennedy's virginity was at stake during a dice game played with basketball star Michael Jordan. Supposedly she won. Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Blvd., W.
