Tee and A

Like a weird, mythic blend of Jayne Mansfield and Medusa, Tinseltown uber-bimbo Angelyne has long defied categorization. Yet the do-nothing buxom blonde remains endlessly fascinating: an equally repulsive and mesmerizing enigma. Tonight's Angelyne T-Shirt & Art Exhibition is chock-full of totems of her characteristically weird appeal — a collection of artifacts, memorabilia, reproductions of her famed, self-promoting billboards from the late '80s, iconography and Lord knows what else (but including, we hope, screenings of her ludicrous rock video "I Always Keep a List [of All the Boys I've Kissed]"). The exhibit occurs in conjunction with the grand opening of the new downtown L.A. headquarters of thrash-punk-trash-fetish-fashion-live-music-promoters Lethal Amounts. With a raffle whose winner gets to cruise Hollywood in Angelyne's famous pink Corvette, a live performance by New York City's Youthquake, DJ Howie Pyro and other assorted shenanigans, this is an irresistibly bizarre proposition.
