Tchaikovsky Spectacular With Fireworks
Ain't no party like the annual Tchaikovsky Spectacular With Fireworks party at the Hollywood Bowl. It's a summer tradition we all know and love: a two-night, all-Tchaikovsky program, led by some of the world's most talented musicians and followed by the Bowl's signature fireworks. Acclaimed conductor Leonard Slatkin will lead the L.A. Philharmonic in some of Tchaikovsky's most beloved pieces, including Marche Slave and selections from Swan Lake. French maestro Alexandra Soumm will perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto on an 18th-century instrument crafted by the great Giovanni Battista Guadagnini and on loan for this occasion. The all-Tchaikovsky evening will close each night with a delightfully bombastic performance by the USC Trojan Marching Band. Known as "The Spirit of Troy," the 300-person band finishes the evening with a bang (literally), performing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture accompanied by cannons and fireworks. A picnic under the stars with the pomp and glory of Tchaikovsky plus fireworks: It's the stuff L.A. summers are made of. Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N.
