Before you start conjuring images of seamstresses wielding needles and pins, it turns out that SewDown isn't a showdown but rather L.A. Fashion Week's idea of a jazzy hoedown, complete with a runway show featuring mirthless, bony gals modeling the latest cutting-edge styles from young, L.A.-based designers. Producer Atousa G. is showcasing her new Pylo American denim line, along with classic creations from Ric Rac, sustainable duds from Rico Adair, Kittenhawk and the unfortunately named Good Garbage, plus Sloane & Tate's "men-inspired" lingerie (does that mean it's sexy or that it has a "skosh" more room?), as well as jewelry, leatherwear, eyewear, footwear, hair accessories, beauty products and art. The best part: You'll be able to purchase many items that aren't yet available in stores (sorry Precious, sample sizes only). Indie-electro band United by Sound kicks off the show with DJs and VJs following up throughout the evening.
