Plucking and Grinning
Ya never know what youre in for when actress/singer/performance artist/whatever Ann Magnuson, veteran of those cheery groups Bleaker Street Incident and Vulcan Death Grip, hits the mat. This week, Magnusons joined by equally spontaneous singer/actor Adam Dugas in a darkly elegant night of music with a theatrical flourish that also features harpists Alexander Rannie and Mia Theodoratus and the puppet theater of Robin Walsh. If the presidential debates have been boring the crap out of you, tune in to what theyre calling a twisted match of musical one-upmanship for some real fireworks. At REDCAT, Fri.-Sat., Oct. 17-18, 8:30 p.m.; $16-$20, student discounts available. (213) 237-2800, www.redcat.org.
