No, You Can't Take Him Home
Oh sure, you can see a tiger shark in most tropical and sub-tropical waters, but since it is the world's second most dangerous shark, it may kill you. There's only one tiger shark at a mainland U.S. aquarium, and Long Beach's Aquarium of the Pacific has him. At just over five feet, this one's still a baby, though he can grow to up to 14 feet and 1,400 pounds. They're also endangered, and the Aquarium folks warn us not to buy products with squalene, which is made from shark oil. They're also nicknamed "the wastebasket of the sea" and would love to finish your Whopper for you, but please don't fall for that trick. .
