Like He Needs More Ink

Contrary to the grim and stoic title of Henry Rollins' latest spoken-word stand — "The Long March" — he's not the first person you think of when you hear the word "march." It's too slow and perfunctory a way to move for the incessantly restless Rollins — methodical a movement though it may be. During the past year, he spearheaded the clean-water initiative "Drop in the Bucket" for emerging nations, released a book of photographic essays titled Occupants, and traveled the United States on his "50 State Capitals" tour — all that and writing a regular column for the Music section of this here alternative weekly, too. It's not every veteran of punk's various lifelong brutalities who can still hack that schedule — you don't see Mugger from Nig Heist holding forth with stories about exploring Southeast Asia — but Rollins sets the bar high. And then does chin-ups. Largo at The Coronet, 366 N. La Cienega Blvd.; Tues.-Sat., Nov. 27-Dec. 1, 8 p.m.; $25. (310) 855-0350, largo-la.com.
