He's our columnist and we'll toot his horn if we want to. Renaissance man Henry Rollins — Black Flag singer, DJ, actor, world traveler — once again takes the stage. This time, he forgoes his spoken-word rants for a live version of his KCRW show. It's a real treat for "fanatics" who still marvel at getting to hear everything from the Misfits to John Coltrane to Tuvan throat singers in the same two-hour time slot. And for "Henry Rollins: Rare Cuts and Conversations," L.A. Weekly's new scribe turns the Echoplex into his living room, focusing on never-before-played music (either too crass for sophisticated KCRW listeners or "due to the rare nature of the material") accompanied by Rollins' usual record-store-and-road stories.
