For Sale: Antique Desk Suitable for Lady With Thick Legs and Large Drawers
The Los Angeles Antiques Show isn't your grandma's rickety-rocker furniture sale. This is the event that separates the Stickleys from the schlock. It all starts as soon as you walk in: Barker Hangar will be transformed into a design environment unto itself, with a floor-to-ceiling black-and-camel palette that encompasses flooring, furnishings, mannequins and specialty pieces that merely set the stage for 65 high-end exhibitors representing design movements from ancient times through the 20th century. And there won't be any of those cheesy booths. Each exhibitor will display his wares in individual room-set vignettes, where you can feast your eyes on treasures including American, English and Continental furniture, antique copper and brass, folk art, rare books, 19th and 20th century paintings, carpets, tapestries, limited-edition Picasso ceramics, vintage couture, tribal and African arts, prints, Asian artifacts, South American and Mexican paintings, garden ornaments and antique and estate jewelry.
