Dishing Up Mexican
Jorge Mester and the Pasadena Symphony kick off the new season with a rollicking evening of Mexican classical repertoire. Theres mariachi master Jeff Nevins Concerto for Mariachi and Orchestra (1994), a.k.a. Theres Carlos Chavezs irrepressible Sinfonia India (1935), a driving, percussive tribute to his indigenous heritage. And rounding out the fun, Silvestre Revueltas exhilarating La Noche de los Mayas.
