Has improv become too corporate? If your answer is "no" or "what?", then this place is probably not for you. But if your answer is a thundering, resounding, middle-finger-to-the-man "yes!", then the Clubhouse, located off an alley in Hollywood, is where you need to be. (Just keep it down. The neighbors are sleeping.) The Clubhouse was founded by Rebecca Drysdale, a comedy writer who decided that the "indie" improv world — basically improv comedians not affiliated with big names like Upright Citizens Brigade and iO West — needed a central gathering place. There's free improv every night, including respected indie improv shows such as Room 101 and TNT, plus drinks in exchange for your generous donation. There are also classes, if you'd like to learn what all the fuss is about. 1107 N. El Centro Ave., Hlywd., 90028. theclubhouseimprov.com. —Gene Maddaus
