Have you and your bandmates been working on your album for months? Then you definitely don't want it to end up a sad, compressed blip in someone's cloud-based music library. If you think your fans would like something to have and to hold, visit Capsule Labs, the only vinyl plant in town that actually presses vinyl. (Everyone else farms out the production.) The operation, housed in an old factory overlooking the L.A. River, completely customizes the process, from mastering to packaging, using 100 percent virgin vinyl, which means that scraps from some other artist's run won't end up in your precious batch. For extra retro fun, play a live show in the cavernous space, and record your performance directly to acetate. 2415 Eads St., Elysian Valley. (323) 362-6049, capsulelabs.com. —Cristina Black

Cristina Black should do some fact checking because this is not the only record pressing plant that actually presses vinyl in house.
